Servo motor maintenance knowledge and maintenance knowledge

While servo motors have a high level of protection and can be used in places with dust, moisture or oil droplets, that doesn’t mean you can submerge them to work, you should keep them as relatively clean as possible.
The application of servo motor is more and more extensive. Although the quality is getting better and better, even the best products can’t stand the trouble if they are not maintained in daily use. The following is a brief summary of the precautions for the use of servo motors:
Servo motor maintenance and maintenance
1. Although the servo motor has a high level of protection and can be used in places with a lot of dust, humidity or oil droplets, this does not mean that you can immerse it in water to work, it should be placed in a relatively clean environment as much as possible .
2. If the servo motor is connected to the reduction gear, an oil seal should be filled when using the servo motor to prevent the oil from the reduction gear from entering the servo motor.
3. Regularly check the servo motor to ensure that there is no fatal external damage;
4. Regularly check the fixed parts of the servo motor to ensure that the connection is firm;
5. Regularly check the output shaft of the servo motor to ensure smooth rotation;
6. Regularly check the servo motor encoder cable and the servo motor power connector to ensure that the connection is firm.
7. Regularly check whether the cooling fan of the servo motor rotates normally.
8. Clean up the dust and oil on the servo motor in time to ensure that the servo motor is in a normal state.
Protecting Servo Motor Cables
1. Ensure that the cables are not subjected to moments or vertical loads due to external bending forces or their own weight, especially at cable exits or connections.
2. When the servo motor is moving, the cable should be securely fastened to the stationary part (relative to the motor) and the cable should be extended with an additional cable installed in the cable holder to minimize bending stress.
3. The bending radius of the cable should be as large as possible.
4. Do not immerse the servo motor cable in oil or water.
Determining Allowable End Loads for Servo Motors
1. Ensure that the radial and axial loads applied to the servo motor shaft during installation and operation are controlled within the specified values for each model.
2. Be careful when installing rigid couplings, especially excessive bending loads may damage or wear shaft ends and bearings.
3. It is best to use a flexible coupling to keep the radial load below the allowable value. It is specially designed for servo motors with high mechanical strength.
4. For permissible shaft loads, please refer to the operating instructions.
Servo motor installation precautions
1. When installing/removing the coupling parts on the shaft end of the servo motor, do not hit the shaft end directly with a hammer. (If the hammer hits the shaft end directly, the encoder on the other end of the servo motor shaft will be damaged)
2. Try to align the shaft end to the best condition (otherwise vibration or bearing damage may occur)
